Department Scope

 

The Health Professions Department includes the Health Professions Certificate and Degree Programs, the Health Science Academy in Plano, and Dual Credit Health Science courses.

Information Sessions

  1. Interested in CNA, EKG, Phlebotomy, or PCT Certification? Attend an information session with us to get your questions answered. Information Sessions do not include information regarding dual credit programs.

    New for Fall 2025!: The following programs will be offered at Plano (Spring Creek) Campus for Fall 2025. Patient Care Technician (PCT), Phlebotomy Technician, and Certified Nurse Aide (CNA). Please visit our Frequently Asked Questions to find out where and when programs courses will be held.

    The EKG Technician program is now a one-semester program (previously a two-semester program) and no longer includes a clinical rotation, therefore, will no longer require the immunization tracker, background check, or drug screen purchase during the application process.

Attention High School Applicants:
Program application forms located on our Health Professions department website are not intended for dual credit programs. Please contact your high school counselor or you school's assigned Collin College Dual Credit College and Career Counselor regarding your eligibility to participate in any of our non-dual credit program offerings PRIOR to beginning the application process. 

Summer 2025 Term Information
Please be aware the summer II semester term does not officially end until August 17. The last in-person CNA clinical class meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 13. This may cause schedule conflicts with those returning to their Fall semester in high school or other colleges.

Contact Health Professions Staff

Students may pursue academic awards (AAS, Level 1 Certificate, and Institutional Credentials Leading to Licensure or Certification (ICLC) in any of the Health Professions tracks. The awards are stackable, and many courses are available online, so students may choose to start with an ICLC and continue to their AAS.
