Collin College acknowledges the results of the Nov. 3 election, in which Collin County voters did not approve Proposition A. The college extends its appreciation to the community members who participated in the election and engaged in conversations about the future of higher education in Collin County.
“We respect the decision made by Collin County voters and are grateful to everyone who took the time to learn about the bond proposal and participate in the election,” said Collin College District Board Chair Jay Saad. “While the outcome was not what we had hoped for, our commitment to providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality education remains unchanged. We will continue to evaluate our priorities, maximize our existing resources, and find ways to meet the evolving needs of our students and communities.”
The bond planning process brought together students, community members, and business leaders to discuss the region’s future. Those conversations will continue to inform the college’s work as it evaluates priorities and opportunities to address enrollment growth and demand for academic and workforce education programs. Building on more than 40 years of community partnerships, Collin College remains focused on expanding educational opportunities, preparing students for successful career paths, and strengthening the region’s workforce – all while maintaining the lowest tuition and the third lowest tax rate in the state.
