Join Collin College for a showing of and discussion about Dunkirk at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the Wylie Campus Conference Center. The screening and subsequent panel discussion are free and open to the public.
Dunkirk follows Allied soldiers during World War II as they struggle to survive a massive evacuation from the beaches of Dunkirk, France. Told through the perspectives of soldiers on land, at sea, and in the air, the film reflects this year’s Auteur Film Series theme, “Cinema and the Front Lines of Memory,” by exploring survival, sacrifice, and how moments of war are remembered.
The Auteur Film Series presents classic, foreign, and independent films with brief educational introductions before each screening and faculty-led panel discussions afterward. The film series is designed to challenge the viewer’s intellect and encourage conversations that engage students in civil discourse.
The films will all be shown at 7 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes before each film begins, and seating is limited. For more information on the Auteur Film Series, including film ratings, visit www.collin.edu/academics/auteurfilms or call 972.881.5140. The Wylie Campus Conference Center is located at 391 Country Club Rd. in Wylie.
The Auteur Film Series is supported by the Student Activity Fee Advisory Committee (SAFAC) and the Academic Affairs and Workforce divisions at Collin College. Dunkirk will be presented in partnership with the Veterans Week Committee.
