The Collin College Frisco Campus invites writers of all levels to join in on fun activities designed to spark creativity during the CollinWrites series from now through Nov. 11.

The initiative, hosted by the Frisco Campus Writing Center and Library, celebrates creative writing through a variety of events. From workshops to a writing contest, CollinWrites encourages building connections and community while providing tools and support to help writers explore their voice and pursue their writing goals. The events, which are free and open to the community, include:

  • Events and Workshops — Workshop attendees will have the opportunity to hear published authors speak on subjects ranging from how to build better characters to creative writing research and more. Additional activities include a faculty panel and pop-up events with prizes, all designed to support participants on their creative writing journey. These events will be held both on and off campus throughout October and November.
  • Poison, Plants, and Plot Twists: Keynote Author Banquet — CollinWrites will conclude with a 1920s-themed soirée on Nov. 11 featuring best-selling historical mysteries and fantasy author Kate Khavari as keynote speaker, selected readings from contest participants, and a night of fun, games, and prizes. Attendees are encouraged to don their finest 1920s attire for a chance to win the costume contest. Dinner will be provided.

A complete calendar of events can be found at www.collin.libguides.com/collinwrites. For questions about the series, email CollinWrites@collin.edu.
