Collin College will continue its Dignity Initiative Series with an event on Thursday,
Oct. 22. The event is free and open to the public.
Leveling Up: Finding Yourself in College and in Life
3-4:30 p.m., Oct. 22
Plano Campus, L250
In this interactive workshop, participants will learn why it can be difficult to move
into the college student identity and how they can make that new identity reflect
who they really are or want to be.
Collin College Professor of English as a Second Language Jennifer Bello will begin
the event by talking about the process of identity formation. Participants will then
go to different stations to practice managing time, dealing with finances, studying
effectively, figuring out next life steps, discovering what they value, handling stress
and difficult emotions, and relating to others, all while maintaining a sense of dignity
and having respect for others. A Collin College counselor will be on hand to assist.
This event is co-sponsored by the Collin Mindfulness Committee.
