Join Collin College for a showing of and discussion about Paths of Glory at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Frisco Campus Conference Center. The screening and subsequent panel discussion are free and open to the public.
Paths of Glory follows French soldiers during World War I as they confront the brutality of trench warfare and the consequences of a failed military attack. The film reflects this year’s Auteur Film Series theme, “Cinema and the Front Lines of Memory,” by exploring sacrifice, injustice, and how the human cost of war is experienced and remembered.
The Auteur Film Series presents classic, foreign, and independent films with brief educational introductions before each screening and faculty-led panel discussions afterward. The film series is designed to challenge the viewer’s intellect and encourage conversations that engage students in civil discourse.
The films will all be shown at 7 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes before each film begins, and seating is limited. For more information on the Auteur Film Series, including film ratings, visit www.collin.edu/academics/auteurfilms or call 972.881.5140. The Frisco Campus Conference Center is located at 9700 Wade Blvd. in Frisco.
The Auteur Film Series is supported by the Student Activity Fee Advisory Committee (SAFAC) and the Academic Affairs and Workforce divisions at Collin College.
