Collin College Welcomes Frisco ISD, Leadership Prep Students Into New Dual Credit Program

Students accepted into the program and their families were invited to attend the Collin EDGE Commitment and Experience Night at the Collin College Frisco Campus. The celebration featured a meet-and-greet with faculty members, information on student support services, tours of the learning space, and a preview of the Fall 2026 schedule.          

Beginning in the 2026-27 school year, Frisco ISD and Leadership Prep juniors and seniors can get a head start on their college degrees through Collin EDGE. The program’s coursework is fully transferable across public colleges and universities in Texas; students will have the opportunity to complete the full 44-hour Texas Core Curriculum while earning their high school diploma.

“We are so excited about this new program for our Dual Credit students and are looking forward to welcoming the first Collin EDGE cohort to the Frisco Campus this fall,” said Dr. Diana Hopes, provost of the Frisco and Celina campuses. “This will be a one-of-a-kind program where students get to learn in a college environment and have access to Collin’s amazing faculty mentors and resources. We are thankful to Frisco ISD and Leadership Prep for their partnership in this wonderful initiative.”  

The program’s unique project-based, interdisciplinary learning model blends rigorous academics with real-world problem solving. Students will spend half of the day taking Dual Credit classes at the Collin College Frisco Campus and the other half taking high school classes at their home campus. Collin EDGE will foster a collaborative environment where students will work on immersive, hands-on projects while gaining highly valuable project management, communication, creativity, and leadership skills.  

“I’m looking forward to experiencing a college campus,” said Ali Bari, a sophomore at Memorial High School in Frisco. “I plan to pursue pre-med shortly after graduating from high school, and this program will help prepare me for that.”
